Executives of the Faculty of Architecture, Chiang Mai University paid a courtesy visit to the Dean of College of Architecture of Illinois Institute of Technology for academic collaborations discussion.
On March 25th 2024, Assistant Professor Dr. Rattapong Angkasith, Associate Dean, and Assistant Professor Dr. Worrasit Tantinipankul, Assistant Dean, from ArchCMU, visited Crown Hall, the home of College of Architecture of Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, USA under the implementation Person to Organization Program: P2O project, Chiang Mai University - Cornell University for Cultural Heritage Preservation of Old Town Chiang Mai.
Our ArchCMU executive members were well received by the Dean, Professor Reed Kroloff. They exchanged teaching pedagogy and possibility to cultivate in building program that students of both IIT and ArchCMU can learn to combine technique and knowledge for designing structure responding to the real context of the site.
In addition, the design will be implemented in the real site with the full phase of construction. The meeting concluded that both IIT and ArchCMU will plan to have more faculty meeting to explore all possible opportunities such as the suitable timeframe and location for the joint exercise project if the faculty members agree.
